Benog is located in Mussoorie Wildlife Sanctuary, close to the hill station of Mussoorie. It is home to some terrific avifauna, both residents and migratory. It is also called Mountain Quail Wildlife Sanctuary, being one of the last few locations where the Himalayan Quail may be found. Benog has a bird checklist of over 230 bird species, and over a 100 species of butterflies,
